And because I'm still trying to figure out how to format posts...

Hell, I don't know how to put things where I want them. I wanted the yarn by itself and then the in progress pic and then the finished pic, but they didn't come out in that order, and I don't feel like trying again. Anyway, as for the Lucy Bag, I really enjoyed making this one! Here's the yarn, the bag partially done, and then completed and felted. I love how it came out sort of a heathered purple! I used Cascade 220 Quattro.

I'm working on another one in a sort of purply blue--I don't know why I seem to be stuck in purple mode. I didn't realize when I picked it up that it was so purple! Anyway, it's Plymouth Galway, one of the recommended yarns in the pattern for the Lucy Bag. I'm excited to see how it turns out. The finished bag in the pictures is not all that big, but it'll hold the essentials. The one I'm currently working on is supposed to be quite a bit bigger. We'll see how it turns out. When I get a chance I'll take pics of the shawl. I forgot to do it this time.

I'm entering this first bag in the county fair open class domestic arts whatever-you-call-it. They didn't have a category for accessories so it's entered under Other in the knitting category. It felted so nicely that you can't even tell it's knitted! I'm just really impressed with felting! It was a lot of fun!

And a few weeks later....

I finally get back to post pictures and announce the completion and felting of the Lucy Bag! First of all, the scarf from hell. This thing, like I said before, is probably around 20 feet long. I'm 5'4", it almost touches the ground on one side of me, loops down below my knees and almost touches the ground on the other side. I am so glad this monster is done!

Scarf is finished!

I finished the Dr. Who Scarf aka the Scarf From Hell. I will post pictures later today. I credit the trip to Nashville during which dh wouldn't let me drive. Seriously, lots of knitting time on the trip there and back. The grandparents occupied the kiddos quite a lot too allowing me to knit while there. I don't know what I was thinking when I packed, but I didn't include anything long-sleeved and I was FREEZING in their house! Their thermostat was set at 69 F for crying out loud! So I took a break from the scarf for a while on Sunday and crocheted a shawl real quick. Pictures of that to come also. I've also made a couple of cell phone socks since starting this scarf just cuz I needed a freaking break from the thing. Seriously. It's a 20 foot long scarf done entirely in garter stitch. You do the math. (Ok, it wasn't 20 feet long before stretching, but it was pretty darn freaking long!) I started on my Lucy Bag yesterday. It's coming along nicely. Only 70 rows to go on the body of the bag, then I start the straps. I can't believe it's going so quickly!

the scarf from hell Posted by Hello

Update on the scarf from hell

Yeah, I'm finally updating this blog. I've been working on a Dr. Who replica scarf for my brother since just before Christmas. This thing will probably be around 15 feet long when it's finished. It's extremely mindless being entirely made of garter stitch. If it didn't change color so often I would have lost interest ages ago. The pattern can be found here.

Woo hoo! I have a blog!

My brother has been bugging me forever to start a blog. He even tried to set one up for me, but I didn't have a clue what to do with it. I hope to post progress on knitting, crochet, etc. projects here. I'll probably have a few vents about personal stuff or rants about political stuff that pisses me off. Anyway, enjoy!
